Whether you run a hotel, guest house or a bed & breakfast, Insurance Price can offer you an affordable insurance policy with flexible cover, competitive premiums and excellent customer service & support.
Core Cover
There are 2 types of core insurance cover that you’ll need for your hotel or guest house policy: employers and public liability insurance. Employers liability insurance is a legal requirement for most businesses, and it will protect you against any injury claims by past or present employees. When purchasing employers liability cover, you will have to supply us with some additional details, including your Employer Reference Number (ERN) so it can be recorded onto the Employer’s Liability Trading Office (ELTO) database.
Public Liability Insurance
Public liability insurance provides you with cover in case a member of the public is injured or dies while on your premises. It also covers any damages to their possessions when they are in your building. For example, one of your guests may slip on a wet floor, causing injury. Public liability insurance is designed to pay compensation which can include loss of earnings, future loss of earnings and damages awarded to the claimant in addition to your legal cost in defending the claim and the claimants' legal costs that you incur if you are found to be at fault.
Additional Cover
You can also add additional cover options to your hotel or guest house insurance policy as you see fit, completely tailoring your policy towards your business. These additional cover options include:
- All Risks on Portable Property: Covers all risks on any portable property within the selected geographical area.
- Buildings Insurance: This will cover for any structural damage to your building, such as the roof, walls and ceilings. The sum insured is based on the rebuilding costs and not the actual market value.
- Products Liability: Protects you and your business against injury to your customers and damage to their property as a result of a product you sell or supply. People injured by defective products may have the right to sue for damages. For example, a guest at your hotel may suffer food poisoning by using contaminated ingredients, and you will have to compensate them.
- Loss of License Insurance: Provides cover against loss of alcohol licence, not through your own fault, and income lost as a result from the loss of alcohol sales. It is important that you cover the correct amount for loss of licence as failure to do so could result in the insurers not paying the full amount of a claim.
