The cost of the average car insurance policy is expected to be slashed by up to 50% by 2020 as driverless cars become more and more common. The Financial Ombudsman Service have released statistics showing that travel insurance firms are looking for more and more ways to avoid paying out on legitimate insurance claims. AXA Insurance have decided to remove themselves from the pet insurance market which will mean that up to 10,00 of their existing customers who own a pet insurance policy will have to be moved over to NCI Insurance. According to AXA, they have left the market behind in order to focus on their 'key products' such as home, motor and travel cover.

A driver has been slapped with a year-long driving ban after he decided to lie about his past drink-driving convictions in order to secure insurance for his car last year.
Mr Jackson neglected to tell his insurer (Zenith) that he had a drink-driving offence and two counts of driving while disqualified when he bought insurance for his Vauxhall Astra last December. Mr Jackson was caught when he was pulled over by police when he driving through South Shields in February.
